Scribe pricing, in one line: Basic is free, Pro Personal costs $25 per seat per month billed yearly ($35 billed monthly), Pro Team costs $13 per seat per month billed yearly ($17 monthly) from 5 seats, and Enterprise is priced on a quote. Every figure below comes from scribe.com/pricing and Scribe's help center, checked on November 1, 2026.

This page covers Scribe, the process documentation tool at scribe.com, not AI medical scribes.

What each Scribe plan includes

Scribe Basic: capture and share, no export

Basic captures guides with the Chrome and Edge extensions, and lists sharing by link, embedding, sharing as a video and on-screen walkthroughs. It does not include unlimited guide creation, desktop capture, custom branding, customizable screenshots and annotations, comments, voice transcription, or export to PDF, HTML, Markdown or Word. Scribe's help center adds a sharing cap: on the free plan you can share up to 10 Scribes at a time, and you can still create and edit others, but only 10 can be actively shared.

Scribe Pro Personal: unlimited guides and every export

Pro Personal unlocks what Basic leaves out: unlimited guide creation, capture of desktop processes with the Scribe desktop app, custom branding, customizable screenshots and annotations, Pages, voice transcription, import of existing process documents, the Confluence integration, and export to PDF, HTML, Markdown and Microsoft Word. It keeps one week of version history.

Scribe Pro Team: the same, plus comments, from 5 seats

Pro Team is "Everything from Pro Personal, plus" comments, at a lower price per seat. The catch is the minimum: the plan starts at 5 seats. Version history is one week, as on Pro Personal.

Scribe Enterprise: quote only

Enterprise adds a guide verification workflow, multiple workspaces, language translation, automatic redaction of PII and PHI, SAML SSO and SCIM provisioning, role-based access control, IP whitelisting, URL whitelabeling, authenticated viewers, global sharing policies, an enterprise search API, Copilot, Slack bot and custom AI assistant integrations, unlimited version history and a customer success contact. It is the only plan with Viewer licenses, and the only one with purchase orders and invoicing.

The costs the plan cards don't show

  • The 5-seat minimum on Pro Team. A team of 3 pays for 5 seats: $65 a month billed yearly, or $85 billed monthly.
  • Everyone upgrades together. Scribe moves the whole team to the paid plan, and you cannot mix paid and free seats. Viewer licenses exist only on Enterprise.
  • Each Pro Team is billed on its own. If you run two Pro Teams, each one is billed separately, and someone in both takes a seat in each.
  • Exports start on Pro. PDF, HTML, Markdown and Word export are not on Basic. If your guides have to live in a help center, a wiki or a PDF, budget for Pro Personal at least.
  • Desktop capture is Pro. The Scribe desktop app is a Pro and Enterprise feature. Basic captures in the browser only.
  • Video import has an all-time quota. Pro and Enterprise can import video recordings in MP4, WebM, MOV and MKV. On Pro, the quota is 20 imports per team, for the life of the team, not per month.
  • Scribe Movies are on every plan. Scribe's help center describes Movies as adding motion, voice and visual cues to a guide, watched through a share link or an embed. It does not mention downloading the movie as a video file.
  • Paid by card, branding tied to the plan. Pro is paid by credit card; purchase orders and invoicing are Enterprise. Custom branding stops working if you downgrade.

What Scribe costs for a team

Derived from the list prices above, before tax. Pro Team is counted at its 5-seat minimum when the team is smaller.

TeamPlanBilled yearlyBilled monthly
1 personPro Personal$25/mo ($300 a year)$35/mo
3 peoplePro Team, 5 seats$65/mo ($780 a year)$85/mo
5 peoplePro Team5 × $13 = $65/mo ($780 a year)5 × $17 = $85/mo
10 peoplePro Team10 × $13 = $130/mo ($1,560 a year)10 × $17 = $170/mo
20 peoplePro Team20 × $13 = $260/mo ($3,120 a year)20 × $17 = $340/mo

For 3 or 4 people, Pro Team at its 5-seat minimum ($65 a month billed yearly) costs less than 3 or 4 Pro Personal seats (3 × $25 = $75, 4 × $25 = $100) and adds comments. For 2 people, Pro Personal is cheaper: 2 × $25 = $50 a month billed yearly.

Is Scribe free?

Yes, within limits. Basic captures in the browser, shares by link, embed or video, and keeps up to 10 Scribes shared at a time. There is no export and no desktop capture. That is enough to test click-capture guides on a few web-app tasks. Once your guides have to leave Scribe as a PDF, a Word file or Markdown, you need Pro.

Free alternatives to Scribe

Vibrantsnap. If you talk through the process as you record it, Vibrantsnap writes a step-by-step guide from that narrated recording, with a screenshot for each step, framed on your click when you record with the Chrome extension. You copy it as HTML and Markdown to paste into Google Docs, Notion or Confluence, or download it as a PDF, on every plan, the Free plan included, and it uses no AI credits. The same recording becomes a tutorial or a product demo video: the AI rewrites your narration, reads it in a studio voice and adds zooms and captions. Recording, editing and previewing the video are free; exporting it needs a paid plan. The AI voiceover and the guide take recordings up to 25 minutes.

Tango Free. As listed on tango.ai/pricing on November 1, 2026, Tango's free plan covers 5 shared workflows for up to 10 users, captured in the browser. Limits: no PDF download and no HTML or Markdown export (you paste, embed or share a workflow by URL), and no desktop capture.

Dubble Free. Dubble's free plan lists "Unlimited guides" and "Unlimited sharing and exports", with PDF download and Magic Copy. Limits: video and audio recording are on Pro, at $18 a month billed yearly for 3 creators, as listed on dubble.so/pricing on November 1, 2026.

Which Scribe plan should you pick?

  • Basic if you want to test click-capture guides in the browser and share a handful of them by link.
  • Pro Personal if one or two people need unlimited guides, desktop capture and exports to PDF, Word or Markdown.
  • Pro Team from 3 people, since its 5-seat minimum already costs less than 3 Pro Personal seats, and you get comments.
  • Enterprise if you need SSO, automatic redaction of PII and PHI, Viewer licenses or invoicing.

Scribe vs Vibrantsnap on price

Scribe builds written guides from your clicks. Vibrantsnap starts from a narrated recording and gives you a video and a written guide. If that is the deliverable, the pricing works differently:

Written guide exportFrom Pro Personal, $25 per seat/mo billed yearlyCopy (HTML and Markdown) or PDF on every plan, Free included

On Vibrantsnap, Pro costs $49/month, or $40/month billed yearly, with unlimited 4K exports and 25 AI credits a month. The Free plan includes 3 AI credits a month (1 AI credit = 1 AI voiceover). The guide uses no AI credits on any plan. Every plan is on our pricing page.

How we checked these prices

We read scribe.com/pricing on November 1, 2026, along with Scribe's help-center articles on billing, seats, the free plan, desktop capture, video import and Scribe Movies. Where the pricing page and the help center disagree, as on the yearly saving, we show both. Team totals are our own arithmetic from the list prices. Scribe changes its plans, so check the pricing page before you buy.
